On Reliability

0 Comments | , , and

I have not wrote anything for a couple of weeks now. No real reason, Just haven't thought of anything worth writing about. Today I'm writing about unreliable people. I know it's funny after such a long silence here.

Some people seem to be inherently unreliable, while others you can always count on. Now I have no idea where this difference comes from. And frankly I don't care much. I'm simply ranting.

If I tell somebody I'm going to be someplace, I'm there. If I'm going to do something, I do. Under the rare circumstances that something else genuinely unavoidable comes up and gets in the way, I let you know. That is what a reliable person does. My whole family is like that. I'm used to it. So much so that it actually upsets me when others aren’t. It doesn't mater if something is important or not. When an agreement or promise is made, no matter how mundane, it becomes important.

Nicolette Defineit

I had a model lined up for a portrait session today. Beautiful girl named Nicolette. She was supposed to call yesterday after work, to schedule the details. I haven't heard anything. Vinnie told me he would be bored all day yesterday, and he would call to do something. Never called.

Neither of these are greatly important. Hell I was busy enough yesterday that I probably wouldn't be able to hang with Vin any way. But the fact that he said he would do something and then didn't just annoys me a little. And Nikki not calling about the photo session, annoys me greatly.

I guess my point is, I hate no call, no shows. If you can't show up, always call.

Mizcomunication

Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone, when they think your talking about one thing, which in fact was just the background for what you are actually trying to talk about. I spent a good ten minuets trying to talk about our twelve and half hour shift with someone at work. They kept trying to argue that the half hour over lap in the shifts is not some extra time because it counts towards toward our lunch.

This kind of thing happens often enough to make me wonder if it's me. I understand it's probably not. She always seamed to loop around back to the same idea every time I stopped her, and explained that I'm not talking about how many hours we work vs. are paid for. But in the end she said I was "just being stupid now" and quit the conversation. I just shook my head in amusing frustration. She never gave me a chance to way what I was actually trying to get out. That was the odd moment of the day yesterday.
