This is my tagline or catchphrase. Any questions?
All of the other reviews are mostly right. This movie is brilliant, epic, dark, and scary, and depressing. Heath Ledger’s Joker is so completely demented, destructive, a utterly un-relatable, it makes Nicholson’s look as threatening as a Jack-in-the-box.

But unlike a lot of reviewers, I think the new vision of the Joker has more to do with the writing and directing than acting. Ledger did very well. I would even say he did exceptionally well. But I don’t think it was perfect. It would not surprise me if others could do equally well with the character. I’m not sure who off the top of my head. I’m just trying to say I’m not sure he should receive an Oscar for this role. He is probably deserving of a nomination, but not a win. I honestly believe that Robert Downy’s Tony Stark, would be an example of a role that no one else could possibly play as well.
But yes this is possibly the best comic movie ever made. Certainly the best Batman movie ever made. And is an absolute must see for everyone. Everyone accept small kids it’s not at all a kid’s movie. See it once yourself before you decide to take any kid under 15.
So I'm sure most of you know Heath Ledger died Tuesday. I have been a fan since A Knight’s Tale. Unlike much of the net, I never doubted he would make a fantastic Joker. I have never seen him give a poor, or even ok performance. He always did excellent work as an actor. He always appeared to be a great well grounded guy.

It's surprising me that I’m compelled to write about it here. I always expected to see great movies from him for some time to come. I pains me a little, that we never will.
