Libby: History's most obvious "Fall Guy"

So Libby was found guilty of bad things during the investigation into a White house leak of a CIA operatives identity. He is not guilty, or even accused of being the leak. In fact, after he was done lying about the leak, he fingered Chaney and Rove as the key offenders. In fact all the evidence in the trial pointed to them.

But nobody conducting the trial wants to go there. I can't fathom the lack of public outrage over this.

Systems designed to help people fail

I lost my job at the end of November. I filed to collect unemployment. I was declined because I have Digilux. A very small business I'm slowly starting, which right now is costing me more than my car. I do have the option of having a hearing to determine if Digilux fits the description of significant employment.

My first trip from Poughkeepsie to White Plains, where the labor department judges are, took me 1.5 hours each way. It didn't get me anything because I was never instructed that I need a full audit of every transaction that Digilux has had since I was fired. In triplicate, for me, the judge, and the Labor board rep. But The judge understood, and let me file a motion to reexamine the case, once I was prepared.

That was today. It was snowing. I left the house at 7am to be there by 9:30am, giving my self an extra hour. I new the one inch of snow would make people panic and drive 20mph on the highway. But I was wrong. People drove 5mph instead. So I was in the car for 3 hours and 43 minuets. Trying to get there. Yes that made me over an hour late. Normally I would just call and tell the people I was meeting, that I was behind 30 miles of 3 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic. However the Labor board Judicial office has nobody employed beyond 4 judges. So having better things to do than answer the phone during most of they day, One judge answerers the phone only between 2pm and 3pm. So I couldn't call and tell anybody I would be late.

Upon my arrival, I was told by others waiting for hearings that she was waiting and calling for me earlier. After I went to the bathroom (sitting in a car for nearly 4 hours), I she called me in. Apparently she gave me a half hour before she filed the judgment agents me instead of the normal 15 minuets. Thank you.

Now I have to make another date. So total driving time so far. Is 8.5 hours with at least another 3 ahead of me. Today sucked.

Friendly Honda HouseWaiting in the waiting room at the Friendly Honda House for your seat belt to be replaced, is boring. High Definition television is not boring. It's actually very cool, unless it was set up improperly. Then it becomes an annoyance. Waiting in a room specifically designed for the activity, in which the only entertainment is a maladjusted HDTV, can be an exorcise in frustration tolerance. You know what I mean. Everybody gets all wide and distorted. On the TV not in real life. Well maybe in real life too.

I failed the exercise. I broke down and tried to fix it. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the original remote controls for ether the cable box or the TV. The universal remote was to simple to adjust the settings on the television. That was disappointing. I was hoping to make the world a little better today. Buy you can't save everyone every day.

Unexpected Results

So we needed a toilet flush valve. Went to Lowe's to grab one. While there we found an air compressor. An air compressor is deceptively complex. There was a specific set of requirements we had been looking for in one, for quite some time. Lowe's had one that fit every desire. It was their last one, the display model. So not only did we find the perfect air compressor, but we also got it at a pretty sweet price.

That was extremely unexpected. A $5 toilet flusher flap, cost $350 and came with a free air compressor. That kind of stuff makes me look around at how each and every little thing we do affects everything else. Often in ways that are virtually impossible to predict. The I subsequently wonder why anybody plans anything. Then I remember I have an appointment to get my car fixed on Monday.

Parking Lot Closed

So last year the local mall realized it's 2 floor parking deck was getting quite old, and was forced to do some maintenance. Half of it was taped off for roughly six months. It was quite apparent that the work only took about one month. The construction site was largely empty most of the time. They did have it ready in time for Black Friday, thanks.

Destroyed parking deck

Now zip through the unseasonably warm Winter, and we are now at the end of February. We get our first real snow storm of the season. About a foot came down in 12-16 hours mostly at night. The next morning (I'm guessing for much of this next part) the dump trucks and bulldozers that they use to clear all the snow off showed up. Now heavy equipment weighs a lot. Lots of snow also weighs a lot. Apparently when together, they weigh too much for an old parking deck to handle.

I'm not sure if there were any injuries, but I don't believe so.
