Apparently many people are less rational than I thought was possible. Yes it seems when people are misinformed to support their ideology, correcting that misinformation actually makes them believe it more.

Now as crazy as it may seem, I think this does make a kind of sense. When two contradictory pieces of information are presented to a person, they will tend to believe the one they like the best. That is absolutely understandable, in a no duh kind of way. Now we combine that with another point. When somebody tries harder to convince a person their view is wrong, the person will think they are being lied to, in order to cover the truth. Those obvious observations combined, are exactly what this study finds. And it's the reason it's so hard to have people think across party lines.

So yah, it may look insane (and it is) when viewed in the larger picture, but it seems pretty obvious when you break it down. It still makes me shakes my head in disbelief.

Doctors say you should read when you can't sleep. By 3am I didn't feel like reading.

Or putting a lot of work into making myself beautiful (stop laughing). I setup my camera on a tripod, a Speedlite on the floor. I took 3 exposures, decided to put two together.

The 5D was one of the most surprising cameras. It created a new segment in the market. The image quality was unparalleled. Well it is still a great camera. But it is 3 years old. In digital terms, that's 2 lifetimes. So it's replacement it the most anticipated camera since canon's first D-SLR.

Now this is not a camera I am in any position to buy. $2700 is far to much for me to consider. I would need to buy the $3500 kit with the 24-105 1.4 L Lens any way, so it's really out of the question.

I love names. Most of the time I have a hard time remembering them. Some are really funny.

That kind of stuff makes remembering names a whole lot easier.
